John Cruz Fender Custom Shop '60 Neck

John Cruz Fender Custom Shop '60 Neck

This one is from my personal collection. It's a Mike Eldred Era '60 NOS Custom Shop neck made in May 2000. John Cruz's initials are stamped on the heel. I own the complete guitar; the body (not for sale) has the collectable JCQA stamp in the trem route.

These early John Cruz Custom Shop's had some of the nicest figured wood. This one is highly figured Flame Maple with a gorgeous grain slab board rosewood fingerboard.

This model was a NOS and all wear is honest –IMHO a true Relic. The gorgeous thin slab board looks and feels like a 50+ year old neck. The clay dots have had about 25 years to age. There is a good amount of fret wear on the first 4 frets (Cowboy Chords) The rest look great! I personally had the action set up at about .070 and it played absolutely perfect. But it could use a crowning for sure.

I love the guitar this neck originated from, but I have come to realize I prefer beefier necks. This one is a thin Oval C. Plays super fast and the small frets make legatos and hammer ons a dream. I debated on restoring the headstock decal, but kept it the way it was for that authentic mojo. But I can include a NOS waterslide decal for the new owner.

These John Cruz necks do not come up often and feature some of the best tone wood. Here is a chance to own a true Relic from one of the best era and teams FCS has had.

  • Oval C profile
  • 7.25 Radius
  • Vintage Small Frets
  • .781 at the 1st fret .910 at the 12th
  • 1.650" Bone Nut
  • Clay Dot Markers

I want this one to go to a good home, this necks are IMHO are the absolute best. On that note, I am open to trades. If you happen to have a similar era neck on the thicker side, lets talk!

Thank you!
